Citizens in Defense of Waller County (CDWC) is a volunteer-led Texas 501(c)(4) nonprofit community advocacy organization formed in 2025 by local residents committed to preserving the rural character, natural resources, and historic heritage of Waller County.

To educate, inform, and engage our community while advocating for thoughtful, transparent decision-making that protects the people, land, water, and history of Waller County.
We believe effective community advocacy begins with understanding the facts. Our work includes public records research, review of regulatory filings, coordination with subject matter experts, and sharing reliable information with the community. We encourage respectful dialogue, civic participation, and informed engagement throughout the public process.

The organization was founded by four neighbors whose shared concern for Waller County grew into a broader community effort.
